The reservoir at Llyn Brenig with its 23 km of shoreline is a popular beauty spot and a great place to try your luck at some world class fly fishing at one of the premier fishing sites in North Wales. As one of the few remaining fisheries preserved solely for fly fishing, Llyn Brenig hosts the World Fly Fishing Championships each year and also provides great fishing opportunities for amateurs with stocks of rainbow trout, brown trout (stocked and wild) and tiger trout.
If fishing is not for you, enjoy a leisurely picnic on the shoreline, walk or cycle one of the way marked cycle trails or walking trails or take to the water and sail, windsurf or canoe on the 920 acre reservoir. The Visitor Centre provides all the information and facilities that you will need to enjoy your day out, including a cafe overlooking the water, details on walking routes and information about the flora and fauna, as well as a play area for young children. Fishing licences can also be purchased in the Visitor Centre or at the machine on site.
