Llanfihangel Glyn Myfyr
This quiet village sits alongside the Afon Alwen (Alwen River), just down river from the Alwen Dam. There are numerous walks in the area – Llyn Brenig and Llyn Alwen and their network of cycling and walking trails are all nearby. The village’s only pub, The Crown Inn, makes the village an ideal destination to take a break and enjoy a well earned pint next to a real log fire.
Campers can pitch up on the peaceful campsite next to the river where there are lots of places to picnic too, and to do some fishing.
Wordsworth visited the village in 1824 and the beauty of the surrounding landscape inspired him to write the poem 'Vale of Meditation'. Visitor information, including an information board with further details of Wordworth's visit can be found in St Michael’s Church located along the riverbank.
