Fishing on Alwen

Fish alwenForestry surrounds most of the 368 acres of Alwen Reservoir, creating an attractive, sheltered fishery, with hidden bays that ensure peaceful fishing.

The reservoir is regularly stocked with Rainbow Trout – but even if they decide not to bite, there are plenty of perch to ensure a good day's fishing.

This fishery is a great place to introduce children or beginners to the art of fishing.

Fishing is permitted between 8am and 1 hour after sunset throughout the season (mid March and mid October for Rainbow Trout). A day's fishing is just £12 (concessions £11) and permits can be purchased from the machines at Llyn Brenig Visitor Centre.
