Kinmel is home to a number of native maritime plants such as the attractive sea holly, bird’s foot trefoil and common rest harrow. Grey seals can sometimes be seen close to the shore and bird life includes the skylark, kestrel and ringed plover. You can learn more on site at the information panels available.
Wheelchair access is possible along the promenade and also along paths leading eastward through the reserve.
The area has extensive sandy beaches popular in summer with sun worshippers and sand castle enthusiasts, but it is also a great place to rest when walking the North Wales Path or National Cycle Route 5. From Kinmel Dunes there are great views out to sea and clear days will show the Isle of Man and the Lake District. A number of promenade kiosks are open in summer offering refreshments and beach equipment. There is also free car parking and cycle storage here too.
Dog are welcome, but best kept on a lead.
